English plays an important role in our everyday life. There is a Great utility of English in the modern world. So, the use of English should be continued along with Hind and other regional languages. I am not very good at conversation speaking in English and can’t express simply what I want to say although I am quite good at writing. And every single day I try my best to express my thoughts in English. It’s completely normal to feel that way. Speaking in a second language can be difficult, especially when you’re trying to express complex ideas. I always Read and listen to English-language materials, such as books, news articles, and web series. This helps me to get a better sense of how native speakers use the language in different contexts. You can also try this method. This is very easy to learn something.
Here are a few things that might help:
How to Speak English With Confidence-
Diary Writing
Writing a diary can be a great way to improve your English language skills. The act of writing regularly can help you to practice grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure. As well as improve your writing skills. Additionally, the personal nature of a diary can provide a comfortable and low-pressure environment for experimenting with different styles of writing. Keeping a diary in English can also help you to improve your reading and comprehension skills by exposing you to authentic language usage.
When you keep Writing, you’ll find that you’ve greatly improved how your writing flows over time. What should you write about in your journal? The good thing about a private journal is that you can write about anything you want. No teacher is controlling your topic of choice. Journal writing is “free writing” and doesn’t have any set topic or strict organizational rules like an academic paragraph or essay. You can reflect on things that happened during the day, examine your hopes and dreams, set future goals, and more.
Practice As Much you can
It’s very important to practice every day. The more you practice something, not only do you get better, but you also get more confident. In the beginning, you will make some mistakes. You will try to improve those mistakes and yourself even more. Learning English will gradually become easier for you. You can take the help of a book. You can learn through music or through movies. So it’s important to get as much speaking practice as possible. If you only speak English once a week for a couple of minutes in English class. Then it’s going to take a long time to build up your confidence! Look for other opportunities to practice your speaking.
Make Friends with English Speaking Expats
There are a number of online platforms where you can connect with people from other countries and practice your language skills. Some popular options include language exchange websites and social media groups dedicated to language learning. Additionally, you may want to consider joining a local English conversation group or taking an English class where you can interact with other non-native speakers. Friendship is one of the best ways to learn a foreign language and the easiest way to get comfortable with slang, intonation, and mannerisms. You can casually chat with your friends in local cafés, bars, and restaurants and slowly build a foundation on the language you want to learn. The great part about making friends who already speak the language is that you will be able to practice freely without feeling self-conscious or on the spot.
Watch a Movie
This is one of the easiest options. If you did not feel secure with strangers, you can try Hollywood movies. For the people who want to take advantage of one of the best ways to learn a language from the comfort of their own home, put on a foreign movie in another language — without subtitles if you can! Not only is this one of the best ways to learn a foreign language. But you will also get a greater sense of that language’s culture as well! If you don’t know enough of the language to turn the subtitles off, keep a list of new vocabulary words you hear and what you think they mean. Look them up later. Come on, looking up words is fun.
Listen to the Radio
Similar to watching a foreign movie, try listening to a radio station in your target language either in the car, on a podcast, or online. Try to see how much you can understand, and write down words that you recognize but do not understand to look up. Also, you can try listening to the news in another language is an incredible and really intense way to start learning vocab and conversational structures fast.
Be patient with yourself
Nothing is more frustrating than feeling like you’re stuck in a rut and not making any progress. It is imperative to keep in mind that learning a language is like stepping into an entirely new world, and it’s going to take some time (this is the dirty truth about learning languages abroad). Trust your experiences and the knowledge you’ve gained so far, and let them propel you further forward in your foreign language journey.
Use your native language less-
If you spend 99% of your time speaking your mother tongue and only 1% is left for English, improving your fluency is always going to be an uphill struggle. Are there situations in which you could use English instead of your native language? This technique is called “replacement” and examples might include: changing the language on your mobile phone to English, watching TV in English 50% of the time, or choosing to read a book in English instead of in your native language.
Improve Your Vocabulary
Having a large vocabulary gives you greater flexibility and power of expression in English. Therefore, it is important that you continually work to improve your vocabulary through a) conscious study, and b) passive exposure to the language. One of the biggest problems learners face when speaking English is that they lack the words to express what they wish to say or cannot construct sentences quickly enough to hold a fluent conversation. Working on your vocabulary can help with this immensely. However, you must be selective with the words and phrases you choose to learn if you want to remember them.
How do I learn English?
English is not my native language I belong to INDIA. As you can learn trow my articles, I am not good at English. I study in a Hindi medium school. And English was not given that much importance in our school. But when I came to college, I came to know how important the English language is. And then I started learning English. But still, it didn’t improve. After this, I got attracted to Korean music after which I got to know the BTS Boys. And while listening to their shows and songs, I slowly started to understand English better. To understand their TV shows, I started to improve my English. They help me a lot to know and help me to learn better English. They are My gift.
